GRATTON GLADWYN

 

We are sorry to announce that Gladwyn passed away on September 15th aged 69 years, a dearly loved husband, father and grandfather.  Gladwyn was a Councillor, Chair of Wirksworth Town Council and this year held the office of Mayor.  In the words of many he was ‘Wirksworth through and through’  Funeral service at St Mary’s Church, Wirksworth on Friday October 8th at 11.00am.  Each year the Mayor raises funds for charity and this year Gladwyn selected the following local groups to benefit:  Wirksworth Colts FC, Wirksworth & Middleton Cricket Club and Wirksworth Memorial Bowling Club.  The family have asked for donations in memory of Gladwyn to benefit these groups, payable to ‘Mayor’s Charity-Wirksworth Town Council’.  These may be sent to ourselves or please contact the Town Council (enquiries@wirksworth.gov.uk) if you would like to make a direct bank payment.

 

WEBSTER Sonia Gladys

 

Passed peacefully away on 2nd October 2021 at Valley Lodge Care Home, Matlock, aged 83 years, of Bonsall.  Much loved wife of Charles, loving mum of Charles, Richard and Greg, mother- in- law, nan, auntie and a dear friend to many who will be sadly missed.  Funeral service to be held at St. James Church, Bonsall on Monday 18th October at 2.30pm prior to interment in Bonsall Cemetery.  Donations in lieu of flowers are invited for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Bonsall Wesleyan Reform Chapel.  These may be sent to R & K Jepson, Middleton House, 22 Coldwell Street, Wirksworth, DE4 4FB. PREECE Carole Ann

 

Of Wirksworth, passed away on 1st October 2021 at the Royal Derby Hospital, aged 82 years.  Sadly missed by all her family and friends.  Funeral service will be held at St Mary’s Church, Wirksworth on Tuesday 26th October at 10.45am.  Donations in memory of Carole are invited for St Mary’s Church, Wirksworth and Guide Dogs for the Blind and may be sent to R & K Jepson, Middleton House, 22 Coldwell Street, Wirksworth, DE4 4FB. DOXEY Karin

It is with deepest sorrow that our family informs you of the passing of Karin Doxey (nee Steube) on the 28th September 2021.  A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.  Please join us at St Mary’s Church, Wirksworth on Friday 29th October 2021 at 2.00pm.  After this we invite you to celebrate her life and achievements at Wirksworth Town Hall.  Donations in memory of Karin are invited for Guide Dogs for the Blind and Middleton Congregational Church and may be sent  to R & K Jepson, Middleton House, 22 Coldwell Street, Wirksworth, DE4 4FB.  The only thing better than having you as my mum is that my children have been able to have you as their Nanny. NASH Des

On 31st October 2021, peacefully aged 71 years of Cromford and formerly of Wirksworth.
